US Military Chief Holds High-Level Talks During First Visit to Caracas

(MENAFN) The US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dan Caine, has made his first official visit to Venezuela, traveling to Caracas for meetings with senior interim government officials, according to reports.

During the visit, Caine took part in bilateral discussions with Venezuela’s interim leadership and also met with US Embassy personnel stationed in the capital. He additionally visited the embassy’s Marine Security Augmentation Unit as part of his itinerary.

According to reports, the talks focused on broader regional stability and security cooperation across the Western Hemisphere. Caine also reiterated the US military’s role in supporting the implementation of President Donald Trump’s three-phase approach toward Venezuela.

US officials emphasized during the visit that Washington remains committed to what they describe as a stable, prosperous, and democratic Venezuela aligned with US interests.
